Group Activities

On the 10th-12th of April 2007 we went on a residential trip with all of the VIA's to the Peak District and did a lot of fun activities like: abseiling, caving, wallking, climbing, hoping in a boulder valley. Here is bit of a description of what we did:

Abseiling-we got a rope tied to us and went down a bridge but had to get ourselves there by using the rope to the bottom. Caving-we went into some underground caves and it got smaller and smaller as we got farther in and was full of water and mud.

Why were we there? We were all together to learn about Kenya, and a possible trip we are planning to take us over there and work on ana AIDS/HIV service. We also got to know each other a bit better.

We have also been again recently but this time only six of us, to train on ways of researching and asking questions to the general public. It was great and we just did lots and lots of climbing!!

Sponsored Walk:

We all walked 13 miles to raise money for our trip to Kenya. We raised £1000!!! It wasnt easy!! We have all got T shirts to represnt what we are doing and our group is called Kash4Kenya. We also joined in on Its a Knockout on Kendray Central Park. We raised about £70 so we are doing pretty well so far!!
